Testimony by Antares - February 2012It has been two weeks since I gathered with my mates from college days for an intimate reunion at Plataran Bali and the status on our Blackberry is still ‘Plataran mode on’ (childish grin) with snaps of that trip as our profile pictures. After spending even just 2 nights there, we’re still reluctant to let go of the mood. In the midst of the lushed garden, quietly splashing in the private pool, steps away from the four poster bed I slept in, the breeze swaying the mosquito net, and just a few stretch away from my best friends who were scattered about, chatting and catching up over coffee and complimentary plates of delicious fruits and petit fours around the table at the Balinese style gazebo... It was the most luxurious feeling I've ever had in a very long time!! (tears in my eyes..humph)
The luxury I felt wasn't about having a private pool a couple of steps away from the bedroom (anyone can probably have that with the right kind of money!), it didn’t come from the five star amenities that was within our disposal in our bedroom and bathroom ( oooh...the individual petite bottles of soap, shampoo, and even mosquito repellent lotion oozing with the aroma of tropical blossoms were devine!), but it was more to having this soothing atmosphere that up-lifts your energy! Plataran Bali seems to be able to do this to you, even the instant you walk down the gravled path to the reception desk!
Outside the red bricked wall that embraced our chatter and very often loud laughter, privacy was still in the atmosphere. The walks along the quaint paths to the dining area and taking our group snap shots on the wooden suspended bridge over the stream that ran across Plataran’s ground, never broke that sense of exclusivity. Although in that given luxury of tropical seclusion there was nothing secluded in the pampering of our pallates!! Wooww...their menu of “Healthy Breakfast” was healthy and yet so hearty! Their choice of main dishes was a fabulous gourmet journey to remember, it would match up to any up-class restaurant in Jakarta (as my ‘resto-hopping-connaisseur’ friends of Jakarta agrees with me), and last but not least it had the tastiest, most scrumptious Pannacotta I’ve ever had!!! (and I’ve tasted some of the best assortment mind you...). Everything was a feast to the eyes and the pallates! Incredible!!
The experience has been totally heavenly!! A stay at Plataran would definitely guarantee a feast to all your senses and the special treat you and your loved one deserves!
“The most peaceful, romantic and private getaway in Bali”
Mr. Kay - Reviewed November 21, 2011Plataran is truly an enchanting and beautiful resort to stay. The receptionist, Mr Totok, was extremely friendly and helpful, also the other staffs who were accommodating throughout our stay. We arrived early at 12.15pm as we wanted to fully explore the resort while waiting for check-in at 2pm (unfortunately our booking was only for one night as we had a tight 1-week schedule in Bali). To our pleasant surprise, they informed us that our room was ready and we were ushered to our villa almost immediately after we arrived!
We stayed at the Riverside Pool Villa (Samaya 11) on November 13th, 2011 and was blown away when we first entered the huge compound of our private villa (200sqm). The pool was very clean and massive in comparison with other pool villas in Seminyak or Kuta. The pool was so irresistible and basically we were in our swimsuits the whole time! The 1.2m depth is decent and safe for others who can't swim, but be more cautious if you are bringing little children.
The Villa itself encapsulates what Balinese living is all about - with traditional features showcased everywhere in the villa such as the wooden tables and chairs, majestic four-poster bed, Buddha statue.etc - it was luxurious and cultural on its own which we love! Best of all, it is infused with modern touches complete with a 42 inch flat screen TV, DVD/CD player with iPod dockets and speakers (sound system is amazing!). They even provide DVDs but subject to availability,it's best if you buy new movies in town as its so cheap anyway!
The complimentary afternoon tea/coffee with desserts were lovely, they will serve it anywhere and anytime you wish, we had it at our Villa ofcourse. Their complimentary balinese coffee was one of the best I've ever tasted, I'm an avid coffee-lover, so this really made my day. Breakfast was good and considerably tasty, only wish the portion was a little bit bigger, but was satisfied with the room service.
The amenities were more than complete - toothbrush, toothpaste, shaver, hairdryer, gels, shampoo, medicine cabinet, bathrobes, torchlight, mosquito repellant and more. The bath tub is massive and they filled it with red flower petals as requested. I love the fact that there is so much attention given to little details, which made the experience very special and personal.
As captioned, this place is very secluded, romantic and peaceful - this was exactly the retreat that we were looking for, therefore it was an unforgettable and perfect getaway for us. If you love being around nature and want a luxurious and romantic Balinese experience, this is the place for you. I thoroughly agree with the rest of the reviews, this place is so beautiful and it's a little glimpse of heaven. My partner and I are already planning our next trip here!
